Learn
through movement
The
Diana Waldron Ballet Academy has introduced a new Royal Academy of
Dancing Syllabus for two to five-year-olds to its curriculum. The
pre-school dance curriculum provides practice and theory for teachers
committed to the provision of quality tuition for young children.
Synthesised
from educational research and developmental theories, the curriculum
has been designed from a developmental perspective, addressing young
children's cognitive, motor and affective development.
Not
only does movement help children feel good about themselves but it
helps them to learn. Through movement, children develop their bodies,
the minds, their confidence and their ability to communicate and
express themselves.
Dance
classes not only provide an outlet to help satisfy children's innate
desire to move but also the opportunity to develop their control and
co-ordination.

Stagecoach
arrives in Guildford
Stagecoach,
the world's largest part-time theatre arts school for 4 to 16 year
olds, is opening its doors in Guildford on Friday 4th February 2005.

is, without doubt, ready for expansion and Guildford seemed an ideal
suburb for the second school providing an opportunity for local and
hills-based children to become involved in the performing arts of
dance, drama and singing, without the need to travel in to the
city," says Principal, Serena Kipling.
