Landsdale
Farm School in Autumn
Just
a few kilometres north of the city is Landsdale Farm School, open
seven days per week from 9.00am to 3.00pm. A visit to the farm is a
must for children, who can see the friendly farm animals up close and
personal and experience the noises and smells.
If
the weather is still warm there are many shaded areas for picnic
lunches or just relaxing with a cool drink from the Melting Pot CafÈ.
The cafÈ staff will collect your entry fees and take your orders for
coffee, teas, cool drinks and food.
Take
a leisurely stroll and look for the gnomes in the shaded, heavenly
Herb Garden. Another feature many children enjoy is the adventurous
and challenging, "sun safe" playground.

April
in Africa at Perth Zoo!
The
April school holidays are the perfect time to go on safari across the
African Savannah plains at Perth Zoo.
You can wander along the dry riverbed that forms the Savannah
path to see giraffe and zebra. Beyond the African Tree House, the
rugged African Savannah unfolds.
Perth
Zoo's African Savannah zone presents the diversity of African wildlife
and their environment, including striking landscapes, tall grasses and
thorny trees. Check out the meerkats, baboons, rhino, hyaenas,
cheetah, lions and the fascinating new African painted dogs, amidst
the sights, sounds and smells of Africa.
Some
of the Zoo's African animals are playing important roles in regional
breeding programs as part of broader conservation efforts for
threatened species, including the African Painted Dog and Southern
White Rhinoceros. In fact, one of the Zoo's rhinos is due to give
birth in June.
"April
in Africa" at Perth Zoo from 9-25 April will feature bonus school
holiday activities, including an African Savannah discovery trail,
painting and craft activities, film presentations at Cinema N'dutu and
additional presentations throughout the African Savannah. Make sure
you visit the new African Painted Dog exhibit.
