Outcomes based politics

Students, parents and teachers are all caught up in a power struggle between opposing philosophies in politics. The system demanded by the Federal Education Minister, Brendan Nelson, reduces a childís achievements to a purely academic grade and percentile ranking, while the Stateís preference is for Outcomes Based Education (OBE), which asserts that if schools create the right environment, any student can be prepared for any academic success or career.
