Cinema for parents with babies

The Cry Babies movie session is held on the first Thursday of every month at 10am at the Astor Cinema in Mt Lawley. It is exclusively for Perthís parents and their babies. The next Cry Babies movie is Wah Wah on 7 September with The Devil Wears Prada coming on 5 October.

The Astor Cinema, a beautiful, art deco, heritage listed building, is independently owned and under new management. It has easy access with no steps or stairs, so parents can wheel a pram into the cinema and park next to the seat. There is a change table, a microwave and the lights are on low.

A professional photographer will be on hand before the movie for a free photo shoot of you and your baby.

If you would like to hear about forthcoming events, phone the Astor Cinema on 9370 1777 or visit the web site www.astorcinema.com.au

Life lessons with the Lulus

Eat your veggies. Why donít you go outside and play? Donít forget your hatÖDo any of these nagging phrases sound familiar? Many parents continually try to promote whatís best for their children but often our suggestions fall on deaf ears.

Luckily thereís a new show in town that incorporates song, dance, puppetry, movement and mime to convey simple educational messages to children up to eight years old. The Lulus Show is a Perth-based theatre group focusing on edu-tainment: the process of making learning fun.

Through their five diverse and lovable characters ñ the Lulu twins, Spike the sporty lizard, Neuro the solar-powered robot and Fin the shy, adorable baby shark, the Lulus Show encourages children to embrace individuality and to live happy, healthy lives.

Join the Lulus and bubbly host Irene in October for a fun, entertaining and interactive show that will teach children some valuable lessons ñ from sun and water safety to environmental awareness, exercise, healthy eating, confidence, compassion, sharing and manners.
